I’ve been working in a bi-directional TouchOSC template for iPad that is designed for controlling Modul8. The main thing is to get feedback from the software to your controller. For use this you will need: an iPad, Modul8, TouchOSC app and OSCulator.
I did some test loading all the project into another Mac and it works painless, after download you can use it after a easy configuration. It’s a very time saver.
This is my custom design for the main view of Modul8:
There’s more than 150 controls and you will get feedback in almost all of them. There’s a couple of issues that I can’t resolve (yet) to get the midi signal that I need. That’s why you can get info about the loaded media for instance. There is the same issue for other couple of controls. Of course I’m not a UI designer but I do what I can
I’m including all the sources for this project, so you will find the osculator file with all the routings, the midi map file that you need to import into M8, the M8 project that contains all the mappings for the controller and of course the touchOSC template.
It’s important that you have the Two way midi module installed in Modul8 before you load the project.
I find this very useful and I think is a rocking Modul8’s controller for the iPad and is available for free. If you can see that I spend many hours in this and you really use it you can donate 10 USD for keeping working.
